More than a farm visit: a journey from the Andes to the jungle. At the Abra Málaga pass, at 4,300 meters, we stop for coffee facing the snow-capped Verónica and leave flowers for Pachamama at the chapel of the Señor de Puerto Málaga. Then the road drops into the cloud forest of La Convención, where coffee and cacao grow.

At the farm, you don’t just watch: you take part with your own hands and share lunch with the family. We have worked with the same families since 2009, when we began within the COCLA cooperative. Their farms are organic and Fair Trade certified, the Pérez family’s coffee is rated specialty grade, and whatever you buy goes straight to them.

Back in Ollantaytambo, you can take the evening train to Machu Picchu. The harvest is seasonal; everything else runs all year.
