Two days to live the farm at its own pace. You cross the Andes at the Abra Málaga pass and reach the cloud forest of La Convención in time for lunch. Choose one experience, coffee or cacao, or visit two families to discover both: hands-on coffee with the Pérez family, from harvest to roasting, and Julia’s cacao garden, full of tropical fruits.
No rush, no crowds: an evening in the valley and a quiet night in a family home or a small riverside lodge. Julia was the first family we worked with in 2009, and we still visit the same farms today, all certified organic and Fair Trade.
On day two, you return to Ollantaytambo for the train to Machu Picchu, or continue through Santa Teresa and Hidroeléctrica and walk to Aguas Calientes.
