Description
This tour of the Sacred Valley is one of the most popular tours that exist in Cusco. Almost every tourist that visits Machu Picchu will spend some time in the Sacred Valley due to its spectacular Andean landscape that beckons you in and the impressive Inca constructions that keep you intrigued. During this tour, you will visit local markets and fascinating archaeological sites.
In Pisac, you will marvel at the advanced display of engineering in its terraces. Ollantaytambo will show you the ingenious buildings of a town that once controlled the entire region of La Convención Valley (Cusco’s jungle). In Chinchero you will visit with weaving families who will teach you an ancient art form. Lastly, you will be able to enjoy local Andean cuisine in Urubamba.

Itinerary
SACRED VALLEY 1D TOUR DESCRIPTION
Day 01: Cusco – Pisac – Urubamba – Ollantaytambo – Chinchero – Cusco
AM – At approximately 8:10 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin the journey heading towards Pisac, where you will visit archaeological ruins located in the mountains above the market. If you wish to try a local specialty, try one of Pisac’s empanadas made in traditional clay ovens.
PM – Lunch will be in Urubamba, and although this is not included in the tour, we can offer you a lunch buffet. See below for options.
At approximately 2:30 pm we will begin our visit to the Incan ruins of Ollantaytambo. Keep in mind that this part of the tour involves climbing towards the mountain where the ruins lie, therefore take your time! After this visit to Ollantaytambo, we will take a 50-minute bus ride to the weaving town of Chinchero. Here, we will have time to visit with a local family that will demonstrate the intricate weaving process. After this visit, you will have time to buy some unforgettable weavings and visit Chinchero’s Incan ruins and or their colonial church.
You will return to Cusco at about 6:30 pm.
Note: Pisac is a very famous artisan’s town, many families work silver and gold, so if you are interested in visiting a local jewelry Workshop (available in private service), we can visit PisacKolke, jewelry workshop, which is very traditional and famous. Perfect place to learn about the process of silverwork and to buy some unique model of jewelry. More information on FB @pisackolke
