    2. Reed Boat Ride: Although optional, riding a totora reed boat is the best way to directly support the family hosting you on their island.

    3. Altitude Sickness (Soroche): Puno is over 3,800 m (12,500 ft). Drink coca tea before the tour to avoid dizziness.

    4. Respect: The Uros people are very kind; it is always a nice gesture to ask for permission before entering their private rooms.

    FAQ

❓ FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Do the islands sink? No. They float thanks to blocks of totora roots (kili) anchored to the bottom. Every few months, they must add a new layer of dry totora on top.

    2. How long is the visit on the islands? We will be on the islands for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, which is plenty of time for explanations and personal exploration.

    3. Is it suitable for seniors? Absolutely. It is a low physical difficulty tour, very safe and calm.
