    Itinerary

    HORSEBACK RIDING IN CUSCO ITINERARY

8.00 Pick-up from your hotel, and a short car ride to the beginning of our tour. Here, you will meet the horses!

8:30 Our first visit will be at the archaeological center of Qenqo, which was a religious center for paying homage to the earth and having funeral ceremonies. We will continue on to local forests and the site of Puca Pucara also known as the “Red Gate.” Puca Pucara was once used as a military base and border control to Cusco city in the time of the Incas.

9:30 Next we will see Tambomachay, also known as the central “Inca bathhouses,” where the water cult performed ceremonies. It was also used as a place of rest and purification.

10:30 Finally, we will visit the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman (the puma’s head), where we will appreciate some larger-than-life Inca stonework. These elaborate constructions were made from giant perfectly sculpted boulders that were somehow carried all the way from nearby quarries.
